I look forward to getting our family pictures done every year! I love being able to capture this moment in our lives so we can look back and reflect on where we were at during that time! As I was preparing for this particular session someone asked me why I called it “family pictures” when it is just Hudson and I. I really pondered about that because sometimes its hard to feel like your typical family when we don’t have children. Does not having children make us any less of a family? I really wasn’t sure and for a month or so I started feeling a little less than. If I am being totally honest I made a lot of excuses for why doing certain things didn’t make sense because we didn’t have any kids. It wasn’t until a friend told me that being a family doesn’t mean having children, you and your spouse are the foundation or your family. I feel like I have been looking at family a little wrong. We don’t have to wait for children to fill gaps in our home like family home evening or family prayer or family dinner. Last week I tried to adjust my focus and let me tell you I feel like I experienced so much more joy! We had a totally imperfect family home evening haha and we played games together and I completely beat Hudson;) We reed scriptures together every night which hasn’t happened in forever haha! And we cooked awesome dinners set at a table for two! I felt happiness, love, and gratitude!! I will forever look back at these pictures and think of graduation, the start of a new chapter, and learning to love this phase of life we are in!
P.S. My husband is AMAZING and literally the best person! I am so grateful I get to do this thing called life with him!
P.S.S. Thank you Makayla for capturing these for us!!!
